Jazana is the director and master instructor at Oasis Dance Studio. Her passion for
belly dance has led her on an awesome journey that she hopes to continue for many
years. It has afforded her the opportunity to travel and meet interesting people from all
over the world.
She has engaged in an intensive study (both intellectually and physically) in belly
dance, taking workshops as well as private study with many master dance
instructors. The majority of her belly dance education has been in the Egyptian
Oriental style, having also studied a variety of other Middle Eastern folkloric and ethnic
dances and has developed great cultural respect for their origins. She also
supplements her belly dance training by participating in jazz and ballet dance classes.
Jazana is also an fitness enthusiast and is a certified group fitness instructor for
AAFA, certified instructor of Keti Sharif's A-Z Belly Dance Technique and
Choreography, Original and Advanced, and certified instructor of Balletone.
She has experience in troupe work and solo performance. While she enjoys
performing, her real joy comes from educating students about belly dance.
Oasis Dance Studio is committed to teaching belly dance as an art form. Jazana
hopes that she can pass along her love and passion for this dance to her students!

TABIA
Tabia has been dancing her whole life. She has taken various forms of dance starting
at age 10 with the classics; ballet, tap and baton. Later, she studied Jazz and hip hop.
Tabia engaged in an intensive study of belly dance during the past 4 years and has
studied with Jazana exclusively for the last two years. To supplement this, she has
also taken workshops with noted master instructors. She has taught an introductory
class for a local recreational center and looks forward to the opportunity to instruct at
Oasis Dance Studio, where she will utilize the impeccable technique she has learned
from Jazana, as well as her upbeat personality to inspire students.
Tabia is interested in all forms of artistic expression and has performed
in community theater most notably as "Elvira" in Noel Coward's "Blithe
Spirit". Another passion is creating art through various means such as painting,
jewelry making and collage and digital art.
Deborah fell in love with belly dance from her first class. She soon learned that one
class a week was not enough to satisfy her growing passion. Her search for
additional classes and learning opportunities led her on a wonderful journey where
she has met many fascinating and supportive women. She has studied under
several local talents – Jazana (New Cumberland, PA), Miraj (Harrisburg, PA),
Sitamun (Hagerstown, MD) and Latifa (Millersville, MD). To further enhance her
dance skills, she enjoys attending workshops with master instructors. Over the
past two years, she has gained performance experience as a soloist and group
performer. Deborah began teaching belly dance to beginners in July 2007 and loves
sharing the joy of belly dance with new students.
Deborah is also an official Zumba Instructor and a member of the Zumba Instructor's
Network. She is currently pursuing her group fitness instructor’s certification
through the American Council of Exercise and is CPR and AED certified, as well as
an Emergency Medical Technician.
Prior to her involvement with Mid-Eastern Dance and Zumba, she studied country
line dancing, West and East Coast Swing, and the Texas Two-Step. She and her
husband spent many hours participating in workshops learning how to improve their
country flair on the dance floor.
When not dancing, Deborah enjoys spending time with family and friends, horseback
riding, playing cards, and reading.
