FITNESS CLASSES
CLASS DATES TBA

will assist in developing endurance and improving body awareness.
Classes
will also benefit the non-dancer
who would like to strengthen core muscles,
increase range of motion, and improve posture.

DanzFit -

targeting deep muscles, orthopedic back exercises, pilates, and yoga.  Your body's
own weight and use of resistance bands are utilized to improve muscle tone and
develop a strong streamlined body.

Fundamental Stretch - Gentle stretches to assist in releasing muscular tension and
increasing flexibility.

Candlelight Stretch - Half hour class incorporating gentle stretches for stress relief
and relaxation done by candlelight.  This is a
free class.

Pelvic Power - Exercises designed to strengthen and increase flexibility of the pelvis,
improve posture and balance, and alleviate back pain.  Additional benefits include
improved sexual response and relief from incontinence.

Oasis Walking Club - A one and two mile mapped out walking course will be
provided that begins and ends at the studio.  You may join up with fellow students or go
at your own pace.  Walk will be followed by a half hour candlelight stretch class.

*Mats are required for Body Work classes.  A limited number of mats are
available at the studio so it is best to bring your own if you have one.

DANCE CLASSES

All dance classes include warm-up and stretch/cool down.  Instruction will include
break-down of technique for appropriate class level.  Classes are taught in increments of
four, six, eight, or twelve week sessions.

Please contact instructor if unsure which level is appropriate for you!

LEVEL 1 - Suitable for beginners and for those wanting to review and refine foundational
techniques.  Foundational technique will be broken down.  No previous bellydance
experience necessary for this level.  Students new to dance movement should expect to
be in level 1 for at least six months before moving onto level 2.

LEVEL 2 - Basics are reviewed, but students should have an understanding of foundational
technique as there will be less explanation.  Layering of moves and easy to learn dance
patterns will be taught.  The latter part of class will be focused on choreography or
particular topic.

Level 3 (formerly level 2) - Students enrolling in level 3 classes should have a solid
understanding/mastery of all basic techniques as well as layering of moves.  More
complex dance patterns and choreography will be taught.  Please see instructor before
enrolling in this class for the first time.  Props may be used, ie., veil, cane.

NOTE: Mastery of foundational technique is usually an ongoing process and should continue to honed
throughout all levels.
